Feng Shui Reflections

This is my first blog. Don't get me wrong, I have written many papers for my grad and undergrad studies but this is different. It is different because I get a chance to connect with so many more people no matter where they are in the world. It is also different because I am able to write about anything my heart desires. Today, I would like to share some Feng Shui reflections and internal processes.

Since I started practicing Feng Shui, I was reminded of the importance of mindfulness. In the past, I have always meditated but somehow, life's routine and busy schedules took over. I am sure you can related. So what is mindfulness?

Mindfulness engages our senses and forces us to pay attention to what our environment is telling us. When we practice mindfulness we are in the present moment, and in that moment, we let go of unpleasant thoughts about the past, and we do not worry about the future. This is a great gift because our hearts open, we become non judgmental, and we are in tune with our surroundings.

I encourage you to take 15 minutes out of your day, put up your laptops, your cell phones, find a comfortable place like your bed, your garden, etc., and let your senses do their magic. What do you hear, see, smell, taste and feel? Perhaps you hear cars driving by, or birds chirping? Maybe you feel a soft breeze or taste the sweetness of your coffee...

You will see, when you make mindfulness a part of your day, it will become a habit, and at some point an immense gratitude will develop for all the beauty that surrounds you. You will also find ways to change things that do not make you feel good. Essentially, you create an environment that supports you 100%.

When I visit my clients for a Feng Shui consultation, I need to engage my senses to understand the story their home/business is telling me so I can create harmony and balance with Feng Shui remedies, and in return, this exercise has transitioned into my personal life as well. For that, I am most grateful.

I hope you will be able to take time out of your busy schedule to practice mindfulness.

Love,

Anja
